The Los Angeles Police Revolver and Athletic Club send our condolences and prayers to the family of Deputy Vargas and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for the tragic loss of Levi after he suffered a medical emergency during the Baker to Vegas race. The law-enforcement family is a tight-knit community, and in times like these, we must all stand together and support one another. The safety of all race participants is the first priority for the Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup. Our operations team, our 200+ medical staff and countless volunteers who dedicate themselves to the safety of the runners each year are especially devastated by this loss. We will continue to support the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the Vargas family during this difficult time.
